  1. His story at the beginning was amazing: so much tragedy and death! my word.

    But ... I don't really love illustrations like this. I'm too literal. He's trying to make the point that Christians say, "I'm not going to try anything crazy." But then he uses benign examples like gated communities, helmets, home school, and going out in the sun. So if I DO let the kids go without helmets, stay in the sun and go to public school, then I am living life on the edge?

    I get his point. Many Christians take risks and find that to be uncomfortable, so they retreat. It's a good point, but he was a bit lazy with his illustrations (she said from the comfort of her living room).
