Seinfeld and Our Presuppositions

I love this video because it contains the same scenes only ordered and assembled under a specific theme which then entirely changes the meaning, plot and moral of the show. I wonder how much we are doing this to the Word of God? It is easy to recast the narrative of the Bible when we slice and dice it up to fit a system, a personality or a thrust we want it to have. We often read our presuppositions into the text about who we think God is, what He should stand for and what He should say. We can take a verse here, take a verse there and assemble a theological picture and a christian life prescription that is not entirely true to the story unfolding in scriptures.
